    Dr. Michael Krebsbach

    Michael Krebsbach, M.D.

    Dr. Michael Krebsbach graduated from the University of Notre Dame and received his M.D. from The University of Minnesota. After serving a general surgery internship and residency in orthopedic surgery at University of Miami-Jackson Memorial Hospital, Dr. Krebsbach completed a fellowship in hand surgery and microsurgery at the Indiana Center for Surgery and Rehabilitation of the Hand and Upper Extremity in Indianapolis, one of the country's leading hand surgery centers. He joined The Boca Raton Orthopedic Group in 1991. Dr. Krebsbach also does general orthopedics and fracture care.

    Dr. Krebsbach specializes in treating all types of hand and upper extremity problems, including traumatic, reconstructive, arthritic and congenital problems of the hand. He also treats general orthopedics and fracture care. Dr. Krebsbach is a Clinical Assistant Professor Of Hand Surgery at University of Miami School of Medicine.

    Dr. Joseph Purita

    Joseph Purita, M.D.

    Dr. Joseph Purita, a pioneer in the use of the laser in orthopedic surgery, graduated from Georgetown University Medical School and served his surgical internship at the University of Florida Medical Center. Following completion of a residency in orthopedic surgery at University of Miami-Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he served as chief administrative resident, Dr. Purita joined the Boca Raton Orthopedic Group in 1981.

    Dr. Purita is an instructor and proctor of surgeons in the use of lasers in arthroscopic and orthopedic surgery at a variety of area hospitals. Dr. Purita is one of the few orthopaedic surgeons in the county using platelet rich plasma to treat a variety of orthopaedic conditions.

    Dr. George J. Kolettis

    George J. Kolettis, M.D.

    Dr. George J. Kolettis received his Doctor of Medicine degree with Honors from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine in 1988, where he was elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha honor medical society. He subsequently completed his internship in general surgery at the Brigham and Women's Hospital / Harvard Medical School in Boston. Thereafter, he completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at the Harvard Medical School combined orthopaedic surgery residency program. Dr. Kolettis was then appointed chief resident in orthopaedic surgery at the Massachusetts General Hospital / Harvard Medical School, where he also served as an attending surgeon on the orthopaedic trauma service. Dr. Kolettis went on to complete his fellowship in sports medicine at the Massachusetts General Hospital / Harvard Medical School.

    Dr. Kolettis has co-authored numerous manuscripts in peer review medical journals, including The New England Journal of Medicine and The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery. He has been selected as a reviewer for the American Journal of Sports Medicine. He has been practicing orthopaedic surgery in Boca Raton since 1995.

    Dr. Kolettis specializes in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery. He provides both non-operative and operative treatments, including minimally invasive surgery for complex shoulder and knee conditions. He has served as a team physician for Florida Atlantic University and several high schools. He currently serves as an orthopaedic consultant for numerous athletic programs, including the Harid Conservatory of Dance, and as a team physician for Lynn University. He instructs students in both the Pre-Professional Studies program of Florida Atlantic University and the Physician Assistant program of Nova Southeastern University. He has held the position of Chief of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Boca Raton Community Hospital. Dr. Kolettis has received the "Patients' Choice" award and the "Best of Boca Raton Award in the Orthopaedic Physician Category". Dr. Kolettis is also named among "Top Doctors" for South Florida.

    Dr. Mark Bromson

    Mark Bromson, M.D.

    Dr. Mark Bromson received his A.B. from Harvard College, Phi Beta Kappa, in 1982. He graduated with his medical degree in 1987 from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He completed his surgical internship and orthopedic residency at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. Continuing his education, Dr. Bromson completed an orthopedic foot and ankle fellowship at Baylor University Medical Center/University of Texas at Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Bromson served as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Orthopedics in the University of Miami School of Medicine Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation from 1994-1998 before entering private practice. He currently teaches students from Florida Atlantic University, and residents from the Northwest Medical Center Podiatry Residency Program.

    Dr. Bromson is Board Certified and Recertified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons, and is also certified in Age Management Medicine.

    Dr. Charles Stewart

    Charles Stewart, M.D.

    Dr. Charles Stewart received his undergraduate degree from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia, where he was a member of the Omicron Delta Kappa honorary fraternity. He completed his medical degree at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore in 1973. His surgical internship and orthopedic residency were completed at the University of Florida in Gainesville.

    Before moving to Boca Raton in 1984, Dr. Stewart completed a fellowship in lower extremity arthritis surgery at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.

    Dr. Jason S. Weisstein

    Jason S. Weisstein

    Dr. Jason S. Weisstein, a native of southern California, graduated Valedictorian from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City in 1998. He subsequently completed his surgical internship and orthopaedic surgery residency training at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Weisstein then went on to receive fellowship training at the University of Washington, one of the country's top medical centers. Prior to his arrival in Boca Raton, Dr. Weisstein worked as an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Washington, with a dual specialization in hip and knee reconstruction as well as bone and soft tissue tumors. While in Washington, Dr. Weisstein trained orthopaedic surgery residents and fellows, presented original research at both the national and international level, and published in major textbooks and journals. He was selected as a fellow by both the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons, elite societies reserved for high volume hip and knee reconstruction experts, and highly trained surgeons who adhere to the highest ethical and professional standards, respectively.

    Dr. Weisstein specializes in hip and knee surgery as well as musculoskeletal oncology. He performs primary and complex revision hip and knee replacement using the latest techniques including minimally invasive knee surgery and total hip resurfacing arthroplasty. From an oncology perspective, he is an expert at limb salvage, the surgical treatment of bone and soft tissue tumors, orthopaedic conditions arising in cancer patients (i.e., avascular necrosis), and metastatic disease.

    Dr. Weisstein is fluent in Spanish.
